Volition, the developer behind the Saint's Row series, has released a new trailer for its next game, Agents of Mayhem. Publisher Deep Silver has also announced the game will released on August 15 in the US and August 18 in Europe.

The trailer provides a look at some over-the-top action, which looks to be in the same vein as Saint's Row: The Third and Saint's Row 4. The setup for all this is the game takes place in a distant future in which "the only hope for governments and global corporations ... are a group of corporately funded super agents called the Agents of Mayhem."

It seems the Agents of Mayhem are all about saving the world by destroying most of it. The trailer leans into the A-Team vibe by using the music from the classic TV series and there's also a nod to Knight Rider too.

Players take control of a squad of three agents, each of which have their own unique skills. All of the heroes aren't exactly "good," according to the initial report. Naturally, there will be an plenty of different guns, gadgets, and abilities to experiment with.

Agents of Mayhem will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The game is not in the works for Nintendo Switch. Asked about a possible Switch port on Twitter, Volition said, "There are no current plans to release on Switch."
