Today, Take-Two Interactive reported its earnings for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2011. In a conference call afterward, executives confirmed that two of the most elusive games in its development pipeline are indeed still in the works.

Despite being MIA, Max Payne 3 and Agent are still in development, says Take-Two.

When queried by an analyst, Take-Two's chief operating officer Karl Slatoff confirmed that Agent is still in active development--even though it's never been seen by the public. Revealed in 2007 and detailed at the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo, the PlayStation 3-exclusive game will be set in a world of espionage and political assassinations at the end of the 1970s, during the height of the Cold War. Take-Two has big plans for the game, which is being worked on by the "A-Team" at Grand Theft Auto studio Rockstar North. The game has never had an official release date, and Take-Two did not offer one today.

Slatoff also confirmed that Max Payne 3 remains in development at Rockstar Vancouver. Though new screenshots for the sequel--which was first announced back in March 2009--were released late last month, little of substance has been heard about it since it was initially announced for a winter 2009 release. Delayed in December of that year, the game has since been conspicuously missing from Take-Two's release schedules, and today's calendar was no exception. Slatoff also did not offer a release date for that title.
