As part of Nintendo's upbeat earnings report Thursday, the Japanese game giant also updated its launch schedule for upcoming Wii U games. According to Nintendo, The Legend of Zelda for Wii U (still a working title) is now listed as "TBD." The game, previously expected to launch by the end of 2015, was delayed back in March as a result of Nintendo discovering "several new possibilities" for the project.

Nintendo listing The Legend of Zelda for Wii U as TBD doesn't mean the project is in trouble, only that the developer is not yet ready to commit to a release window.

The Legend of Zelda for Wii U was going to be one of Nintendo's biggest 2015 titles. The company still has more Wii U games for this year, of course, including Splatoon, Mario Maker, Star Fox, and Xenoblade Chronicles X, Yoshi's Woolly World, in addition to whatever surprises Nintendo may have in store at E3.

The recent delay for The Legend of Zelda Wii U was announced just days after Nintendo announced two other major developments. First, the company has reached a deal with DeNA to finally bring its franchises to smartphones. Nintendo also has announced its next platform, which is codenamed "NX."
