After 7 Weeks At No. 1, Cyberpunk 2077 Finally Falls Down Steam Charts
Cyberpunk 2077 has finally been outsold on Steam; see the full Top 10 chart here.
The latest weekly sales charts for the PC store Steam have become available, and Polish developer CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 has fallen off the top spot for the first time.
The embattled RPG, which has sold 13 million copies across all platforms, had been the No. 1 top-seller on Steam by revenue since its release in December. Cyberpunk 2077 lost the top sales spot to Facepunch's survival game Rust, which is seeing a significant resurgence. Facepunch recently said the studio made more than $1 million in daily revenue twice in the past week.

The Valve Index VR Kit was No. 2 on the Steam sales charts for the week ending January 11, with Cyberpunk 2077, Sea of Thieves, and Phasmophobia rounding out the top five. You can see the full chart above, via industry analyst Daniel Ahmad.
Cyberpunk 2077 falls off the top spot in terms of revenue after the game lost many thousands of players on Steam at a rate faster than The Witcher 3. The game's release was marred by bugs and issues, though these appeared to be particularly pronounced on console and not PC.
Despite the issues, Cyberpunk 2077 turned a profit after just one day on sale. Free DLC for the game is on the way, and it should be announced relatively soon.
