At the AEW/NJPW PPV Forbidden Door, there was a massive four-way match for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship between current champ Jay White, Adam Page, Kazuchika Okada, and Adam Cole. At the end of the match, Cole was hurt. Luckily, he's on the road to recovery and the road to returning to television.

Speaking with GameSpot's wrestling podcast, Wrestle Buddies, Cole was open about his recovery since the June 26 PPV. "I'm doing ok," Cole said. "I'm definitely on the path, on the track to recovery, for sure. I have a great team around me that is helping and making sure I'm taking care of to the best of my ability. AEW has been fantastic as far as making sure I'm getting the right care that I deserve, and I feel progress and a move forward, every single week. Because I was pretty banged up."

"For 14 years, being in the pro wrestling industry, I think the most time I've had off, ever, was one month. I've been going, going nonstop. Eventually, our bodies kind of catch up to us, and I had a couple of things that were kind of lingering for me, and with what happened at Forbidden Door, but I feel good. I'm very confident I'll be back in the ring soon. I'm excited to be back. I miss it so much already."

"The most important thing in a situation like that is a good team of people who know what they're doing and are concerned about your wellbeing, being around you, and that was definitely the case for me. I'm getting the proper care that I need, and I'll be good to go in no time."

You can check the entire Cole interview on this week's episode of Wrestle Buddies. Outside of AEW, Cole comes back for the entire episode to talk about what video games he's playing, what he wants from the upcoming AEW game, and surprisingly, lots of Final Fantasy talk.
