Majesco's upcoming action adventure game Advent Rising will involve the collaboration of famed sci-fi writer Orson Scott Card, the author of Ender's Game. Card is working on a crossover novel that develop elements of the storyline he created for the game. Advent Rising takes place in a version of the galaxy where a common legend says that a powerful ancient race will one day unite the universe. Millions of disparate cultures revere the mythological creatures known as humans, but one, the seekers, know of the humans' existence and are threatened by their power. Posing as benevolent explorers, the seekers seek out human settlements throughout the galaxy and eradicate them.

In Advent Rising, you assume the role of Gideon Wyeth, an inhabitant of the last remaining human outpost with dormant powers he has not yet discovered. The game promises to sweep you up in an ever-evolving series of sequences and events that should be reminiscent of a fast-paced action movie. Advent Rising is powered by the latest version of the Unreal engine, which developer GlyphX says will be the foundation for refined gameplay wrapped in imaginative visuals.

Majesco will be showing off a trailer of Advent Rising at its booth on the E3 show floor. The game is being developed simultaneously for the Xbox and PC and is scheduled for release in early 2004.
