Activision has today announced that it will be working directly with DreamWorks to develop and publish games based on the upcoming Shrek 2 movie. Today's announcement follows Activision's termination of its previously announced copublishing and codevelopment deal with TDK Mediactive following Take-Two's acquisition of TDK.

"Activision and DreamWorks are working together to develop games based on Shrek 2 and future Shrek sequels," said Ron Doornink, CEO of Activision. "We are extremely pleased with the working relationship that we have developed over the past several months with DreamWorks and are very excited to further expand our commitment with them."

Under the terms of the agreement announced today, Activision has the rights to develop and publish Shrek 2-inspired games on console, PC, and handheld platforms. Activision also holds the exclusive interactive rights to publish games based on DreamWorks' upcoming animated movies Shark Tale, Madagascar, and Over the Hedge.
