THQ, which went bankrupt last year, was the former publisher of SpongeBob games.

The first game to be published through the new Activision-Nickelodeon deal will be SpongeBob SquarePants: Plankton's Robotic Revenge. The game will launch October 22 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Wii U, DS, and 3DS.

A third-person co-op game from Behaviour Interactive (Naughty Bear), Plankton's Robotic Revenge follows Sheldon J. Plankton and his attempts to steal the famous Krabby Patty formula with the help of evil robots. Gamers can play as SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, or Mr. Krabs in the game.
