Activision Looks to the Future at E3

Activision announces and shows off 14 new titles at E3 in Atlanta

Fourteen new games make up Activision's 1997 line-up; all will be shown at E3 starting tomorrow. Games Activision will showcase are:

PC Titles

Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain - Last year's PlayStation RPG is brought to the PC this summer.

Dark Reign: The Future of War – With futuristic strategy at its finest, players are propelled into a sci-fi universe to defeat two opposing armies to free the galaxy.

Fighter Squadron: The Screamin' Demons Over Europe - A World War II flight sim with 90 mission scenarios and some of the greatest warbirds in history is scheduled for a fall release.

Heavy Gear - The next wave of giant robots includes single and multiplayer combat. Fight over deserts, ice, and urban terrain are available in this simulation scheduled for release in the fall.

Hexen II - The sequel to Heretic and Hexen takes players to 30 levels of action with 36 weapons and a variety of environments including a medieval town, meso-American ruins, and more. Hexen II is slated for fall release.

NetStorm - This real-time strategy game was developed specifically for Internet play. After testing their wartime skills in one-player mode, players are encouraged to go on-line and duke it out with players across the country or around the world. NetStorm is slated for fall release.

Quake II -The sequel to the hugely popular Quake features a new breed of enemy, all new weapons, and nonlinear environments to explore. Quake II is scheduled for fall release.

Sin - Using id's Quake engine, Sin brings players into the 21st century as the leaders of an elite strike force that eliminates crime and vice. Sin is scheduled for release in early 1998.

Twinsen's Odyssey - The sequel to Relentless brings gamers back to Twinsen's world to do battle with the evil Dark Monk. Twinsen's Odyssey is slated for release this month.

Zork Grand Inquisitor – The eighth game in the Zork series centers around restoring magic to the Great Underground Empire so its people can be freed from the Dark Ages of Zork. Zork Grand Inquisitor is scheduled for fall release.

PlayStation Titles:

Apocalypse - With Bruce Willis on the team, anything is possible. Players navigate their way through a dark, apocalyptic future with Trey Kincaid (played by Willis). Together with Kincaid, players must defeat the Reverend and foil his evil plans for humanity. Apocalypse is scheduled for fall release.

Pitfall 3D: Beyond the Jungle - Pitfall Harry Jr. (Harry's son) jumps to the third dimension in the latest game in his series of adventures. To save the beautiful rebel leader, a lost Moku civilization, and the Earth itself, players must swing, jump, and run their way through treacherous obstacles. Pitfall 3D is scheduled for release in early 1998.

Grand Tour Racing '98 - GTR '98 brings eight teams and 40 vehicles driving on 3-D courses to the PlayStation in grand style. The game takes place in a number of different environments including Europe, Africa, and Asian territories. GTR '98 is scheduled for fall release.

Nightmare Creatures - Kalisto's 3-D fighting adventure title comes to the PSX courtesy of Activision. Choose from two characters and take on a mysterious cult through 15 levels using a wide variety of weapons. Nightmare Creatures is scheduled for a fall release.
