Accolade Catches Big Air
Accolade plans to rip up some deep snow with its Test Drive engine.
Big Air is one of the many snowboarding games coming for the console, and like many of the others, it has several modes, uses licensed gear, and has several courses to choose from. However, Accolade's new game also has a few unique features.
The first is that Bir Air uses the Test Drive engine, so while it's not getting its own brand new engine, it is, at the very least, getting an engine from a popular racing game. In addition, ten bands, nine licenses snowboarding companies, seven clothing manufacturers, and five professional snowboarders show up in the game, including Nike Big Air champion Mike Beallo and Boardercross star Shaun Palmer.
Players who want to be Boardercross stars themselves can try ripping up snow in Boardercross mode, or head out to the half-pipe, slalom, free ride, or big air modes instead. Also gamers can choose to compete in six countries: Canada, Scotland, Switzerland, Germany, Japan, and the US. If and when a player beats all the other top riders, he'll challenge Palmer in the "ultimate" contest.
Bir Air is due out for the Sony PlayStation in November and will be dual shock compatible.
