Aureal Semiconductor Inc. is crowing about the support it is getting from developers. Aureal now says that Interplay's Descent: Freespace - The Great War title will also support its Aureal A3D Interactive audio driver.

With use of the A3D Interactive driver, sounds can emanate from all directions in an x, y, and z plane, according to Aureal (in other words, very realistic).

The company says that Interplay plans to release a patch for MDK that will give gamers A3D audio and Direct3D graphics.

Interplay already features A3D support in one of its titles - Star Trek: Star Fleet Academy.
