EA Play showed off the next game from Josef Fares' studio Hazelight, the co-op platformer It Takes Two.

During the EA Play presentation, the publisher showed off a first look at the next game from Josef Fares' studio Hazelight. Though the trailer mostly revolved around Fares himself and telling a bit of his life story, it also gave a look at the studio's next game, It Takes Two.

The new game is a co-op action-adventure platformer. But Hazelight isn't known for being conventional, so It Takes Two will introduce mechanics to manage the emotions of the two characters, which Fares says is a way to marry the gameplay and narrative. It's coming in 2021.

Fares was the director on Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons before founding his own studio to make A Way Out. His games have focused on partners working together, and that theme appears to be continuing here. He's also known for his larger-than-life personality, which tends to come across in the passionate way he talks about his games.

The presentation was part of a showcase of EA Originals games, the studio's publishing label for independent studios.
