Stranger Things brings us everything we loved about classic horror TV series of the '80s and '90s (Sponsored by Netflix)

Over the past few years Netflix has established itself as one of the leaders in on demand original content, with the likes of Orange Is The New Black, Narcos and Sense 8. They continue this trend with the introduction of their new series Stranger Things.

The Duffer Brothers, best known for their 2015 TV series Wayward Pines, take us on a nostalgic trip back to 1983 middle America, where BMX bikes ruled and your neighbours never locked their doors.

A love letter to the ’80s supernatural classics that captivated a generation, Stranger Things is set in 1983 Indiana, where a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.

In this video series we look at how the classic sci-fi mysteries of the '80s and '90s helped influence The Duffer Brothers and the creation of Stranger Things.
