$500 Halo 5 1TB Xbox One Bundle Announced, Has Custom Sound Effects

Special edition bundle will arrive on October 20, a full week before the game arrives.


Halo 5: Guardians is getting its own special edition Xbox One console.

During Microsoft's Gamescom briefing today, the company unveiled the nice-looking console. It'll be a 1TB model, and preorders for the $500 system open today, August 4.

The bundle comes with a custom console and controller, as well as a digital copy of Halo 5. Also included is the Warzone REQ bundle, which features 14 requisition packs, as well as other digital items such as in-game armor and a multiplayer emblem.

You'll also get a special Guardian figure, Blue & Osiris team dossiers, Spartan Locke's Classified Orders, and a copy of the Halo: The Fall of Reach animated series. What's more, the Halo 5 console features metallic blue accents and even has Halo-themed sound effects.

The bundle launches on October 20, a full week before the game arrives on October 27. You can pre-load Halo 5 right away, but it won't unlock until October 27.

Also at Gamescom today, Microsoft announced a new Halo 5 competitive gaming tournament. The Halo World Championship will offer up $1 million in prizes. More details will be announced later.
