Now Playing: Grand Theft Auto 5 - Southern San Andreas Super Sports Series Trailer

Almost 5 years and 90 million copies shipped after Grand Theft Auto V was released in September 2013, developer Rockstar Games today released a "new" version of the open-world game. The $85 GTA V: Premium Online Edition, as it's called, includes the main game, an up-to-date version of GTA Online, and the Criminal Enterprises Starter Pack.

This pack comes with $1 million in GTA$, along with things like properties, weapons, vehicles, and businesses to help you get off the ground running (see the full list below). The Criminal Enterprises Starter Pack has been available for months already. If you already own GTA V, you can get the starter pack for $40 by itself.

It is no surprise that this new version of GTA V--which will be sold in physical and digital stores for PS4, Xbox One, and PC--is focused around GTA Online. The online mode continues to be incredibly popular, with its microtransactions still pulling in lots and lots of money.

Part of what has made GTA Online so enduringly popular is that Rockstar continues to release updates and offer sales on a regular basis. Here is a rundown of all of the weekly deals in GTA Online.

While no single-player DLC for GTA V has been released, GTA Online has welcomed a series of substantial, content-rich updates--all of which have been free. These have included things like The Doomsday Heist, Gunrunning, Bikers, and Smuggler's Run.

This is Rockstar's largest gold mine ever. It has made them the richest studio ever.

I'm begging for a GTA IV Remastered game for the PC, PS4 and One (especially because the GTA IV that's already out runs really badly on the PC).

I was hoping this was an online only version so maybe I can finally get a cheap copy of the campaign for the current gen. Already have it for 360, so at this point it's just a luxury buy for updated graphics. Really don't want to drop $30 for a graphics update.

Where are the PS4 Pro/ Xbox one X promised enhancements ?

@deviltaz35: That's included in the Ultra Premium Online Edition, due Winter 2020.

But I'm personally waiting for the Remastered Ultra Premium Online Edition for PS5 in 2021. I mean, I've played it on PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, PS4 Pro but the graphics will be insane on the PS5. Hopefully they release the Elite Remastered Ultra Premium Online Edition for PS5 Pro in 2026.

Super tight gfx and framerates.

Ok, so this may be a touch off topic, but still related, but does anyone know if Rockstar is planning on re-releasing Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories & GTA Vice City Stories for PS4 and current gen consoles? I've heard that they are and I have heard that they arent. Just trying to clear this up! Cuz i would be totally down to revisit both on my PS4!!

@Jimbowesker: It's always guesswork with Rockstar until they've given a release date. But my guess it is, a leak happened last year, indicating it was planned and with other stories I've heard I think it's coming out this year.

@jach: Thanks, I'm with you. I also believe Rockstar has it up their sleeve in secret.

Greedy bastards. I really hope Rockstar enjoys their success with GTA V. I'm positive GTA 6 will never amass the sales that V is getting.

Unless of course they keep using their cross gen tactics to get people to double dip.

I don't get it I loved GTA but this game doesn't get anymore boring.

@nikolistary: I'm afraid it will be just as successful for the exact reason you stated.

How can they still be people buying this game? Still top 10 in NPD every month!

@supamastergamer: Easy, the online is awesome.

@aross2004: The online is meh. It's fun to run around with a group and do the different stuff on the map. But everything else isn't really that fun, because at least 1 of these reasons ruins it at least a little:
Some of it looks like beta version of a mod,
load times are horrible,
when people start quitting it loads the online map instead of giving the option to stay and find others,
too much chaos without purpose or reason,
law enforcement might as well not be there.

Also, to add to the reason why it's still top selling, I'm guessing cheaters that needs another copy for another account.
