Blizzcon 2013 came and went this last weekend, and while it may have been harder not to hear about all of the Blizzard news, here are the highlights just in case you missed them.

Blizzard may want you to call it a "hero brawler," but most people will still just refer to this as a MOBA. If you're interested in trying it out for yourself, the beta sign-up for Heroes of the Storm (formerly Blizzard All-Stars) opened on Friday. And any old-school fans will be glad to hear that The Lost Vikings have a "good chance" of showing up in the game as well. You can find more in-depth info about Heroes of the Storm (and Blizzard's other eSports titles) at GameSpot sister site OnGamers.com.

The first of Blizzard's games to get an official release on mobile is also their first attempt at an entirely free-to-play model. Hearthstone goes into open beta in December...or maybe January; Blizzard likes to give themselves some leeway to get things right. So, if you haven't gotten to try the game out yourself, you'll get the chance soon. During an on-stage panel, Blizzard also talked about new cards and heroes coming to the game.

4) Diablo 3 for PS4 has version-exclusive features and runs at 1080p

Game resolution has been a hot-topic with this upcoming round of consoles, and PlayStation 4 owners will be happy to know that Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls will run at 1080p and 60 FPS. Despite earlier news to the contrary, the game will also support PlayStation Vita Remote Play.

5) Star Wars special effects studio ILM will be working on the Warcraft film

Industrial Light and Magic will be making the orcs for the film that's being touted as an orcs. vs. humans "origin" story set in the Warcraft universe. Visual effects supervisor Bill Westenhofer says they're going for an "Avatar meets Game of Thrones" style and the movie will use a mix of live-action and CGI. But other than those details and a mood trailer shown exclusively at Comic-Con 2013, Blizzard has been as secretive about the Warcraft movie as any of their in-development games.

Even with all the big (and small) news from Blizzcon, we didn't learn anything new about the in-development MMO Titan. But then, their current MMO juggernaut, World of Warcraft, does still have over 7 million paying subscribers.
