2015's Assassin's Creed Syndicate received a surprise update this week, adding PS4 Pro support to the Victorian-era action game. According to the patch notes, update 1.5 adds 4K support for the PS4 Pro console, though a detailed rundown of what's improved is not available.

Some games patched for PS4 Pro look better on 1080p TV sets as well, though this may not be the case for Syndicate. Wccftech reports that the game looks the same as it did before the patch.

Syndicate is not the only Assassin's Creed game to receive a PS4 Pro patch, as The Ezio Collection was also updated to support the new console. That game's patch added support for "4K dynamic rendering," though Ubisoft did not share any further specifics about the visual improvements.

The $400 PS4 Pro launched in November. Sony has not announced any sales figures, but GameStop management recently stated that the more-powerful console is off to a "strong start." For more on the console, check out GameSpot's review.
