3DS firmware update delayed
Nintendo Japan pushes back the latest Nintendo 3DS update; a patch will be available "before December 8."
The industry is no stranger to game delays, but it's less common that a firmware update gets pushed back. Nintendo originally planned a system update for the Nintendo 3DS on November 30, but with just hours to go, the House of Mario has delayed the release by a few days.
Nintendo of Japan has delayed the latest Nintendo 3DS update by about a week, saying it needed more time to prepare the patch. In a statement on its website, Nintendo of Japan said that the firmware update would be available to download "before December 8."
While the update isn't set to implement any groundbreaking new features to the handheld console, some of the changes include the ability to record and play 3D movies, have new levels in StreetPass Quest, and have the option to transfer data between Nintendo 3DS consoles.
