3DO representatives spoke with GameSpot News today about its PlayStation software plans for the next year. Covered in the discussion were:

High Heat Baseball Originally planned for the vapor hardware M2's 64-bit system, this baseball title will now appear for PlayStation and PC platforms. The title will benefit from advanced AI, a high-speed game pace, and voice work by noted baseball announcer Ted Robinson.

Company officials report that game graphics should be almost identical to Matsushita cousin and that 3DO head Trip Hawkins, a huge fan of the sport, will be codesigning the game. High Heat Baseball should debut right around the beginning of baseball season, at the end of March 1998.

Battlesport II (working title) Another former M2 title, Battlesport II is a futuristic sports game planned as a PlayStation-only title due spring of '98. The first Battlesport game was originally released on the 3DO console system, and it is due for the PlayStation soon through Acclaim.

Army MenLike the title says, this action-strategy wargame revolves around animated plastic army men and vehicles. At first glance, the game appears like an upgraded version of the old console game Return Fire, with a few Command & Conquer elements to boot. It's due for the PC this Christmas and for the PlayStation in the second quarter of 1998.

UprisingUprising is a real-time wargame along the lines of Command & Conquer, but the player is actually on the battle field, fighting right alongside the troops in a behind-the-tank 3-D view. A PC release is planned for October, with a PlayStation version slated for spring of next year.
