3D Darts Hands-On Impressions
We try our hand at Bandai's mobile version of the classic pub game at E3.
Dart games have been notoriously bad on the cell phone, but Bandais Darts is taking an innovative approach to the bar pastime. The aiming cursor moves to random places across the dartboard, so timing and luck seem to be a major part of the game. The difficulty levels, Beginner, Expert, Master, and Professional, will probably dictate the speed of the cursor movement. Once the button is pressed, there is a close-up animation of the flying dart and a dramatic animated thud when it hits the board.
One strong point of Bandais Darts are the 3D graphics. Powered by the Mascot Capsule 2.0 engine, the graphics are fast and detailed. Aside from that, Darts looks like the standard pub game. However, considering that darts are yet to be emulated properly on the mobile, Bandais new title may be something to get excited about.
