25 years after the release of the last Mighty Ducks movie, the franchise is back with its new TV show, Game Changers. The program is now available to stream on Disney+.

Episode 1, "Game On," is streaming now, with subsequent installments coming weekly on Fridays. The nostalgia-driven show brings back Emilio Estevez as Coach Bombay, but everything is different now. He's no longer coaching the Ducks, which have become a powerhouse youth ice hockey team. Bombay reluctantly gets drawn back into the world of ice hockey and assembles a new team to compete against the Ducks.

The show also stars Gilmore Girls' Lauren Graham in a lead role, while a series of youngsters take on the roles of new hockey team. Some actors from the original Mighty Ducks movie series are set to come back for a future episode in cameo roles.

The original Mighty Ducks movie premiered all the way back in 1992, with sequels D2 and D3 releasing in 1994 and 1996. The film series featured actor Joshua Jackson in the lead role, but his character won't show up in Game Changers, at least not in Season 1.

Reviews for Game Changers have started to appear online, and they are seemingly positive. Variety said the show is "smart, surprising sweet." TV Line, meanwhile, said the show "delivers a feel-good story that's worth giving a shot."
