2023 Does Have A New Call Of Duty Game After All, As Call Of Duty Board Game Announced

Pre-orders will start on Kickstarter later this year.

Call of Duty is getting a tabletop strategy game as Activision and Arcane Wonders have announced Call of Duty: The Board Game.

Although there has been speculation that there are no current plans to release a Call of Duty title this year, the upcoming board game will open for pre-orders on Kickstarter in Fall 2023, with a worldwide release set for 2024. It will feature iconic maps and characters from the Call of Duty game series while combining elements of strategy, tactical planning, and combat "to create an intense and immersive gaming experience."

Players can also expect miniatures of the elite Operators and weapons from the franchise, as well as a variety of scenarios, team-based objects, and game modes alongside high-quality artwork. The announcement trailer showcased that artwork, with characters such as Ghost from Modern Warfare II making an appearance. The board game box was also revealed, although the contents have yet to be fully shared.

"As life-long COD fans, we've worked hard to capture the scope, stakes, and sheer intensity of the video games in ways that COD fans and board gamers new and old will love. We're looking forward to bringing the unforgettable fun and competitive frenzy of COD to game night for years to come."

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II's multiplayer is currently free-to-play for an entire week. The campaign is running from April 19-26, to coincide will the recent launch of Season 3, and will allow players to take part in a selection of multiplayer content, including its maps and 12 modes.
