2016 Is a "Year of Preparations" for Final Fantasy VII Remake, Producer Says
Producer Yoshinori Kitase provides an update.
New information about the state of development for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake has been divulged. Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase says in a new issue of Famitsu that 2016 will be a "year of preparations" for the game, which suggests there is still a lot of work to do be on the project.
"I believe that this year will still be a year of preparations for Final Fantasy VII Remake," Kitase said when asked about his 2016 ambitions for the game, as reported by Siliconera. "I'd like to create a new kind of value for the hardware that is the PlayStation 4 for our next announcement."
The Final Fantasy VII Remake, a new version of the 1997 RPG, will be released episodically. The first episode is currently without a release date and, as Kitase's comments allude to, is likely still fairly far out.
