New information about the state of development for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake has been divulged. "I believe that this year will still be a year of preparations for Final Fantasy VII Remake," Kitase said when asked about his 2016 ambitions for the game, as reported by Siliconera. "I'd like to create a new kind of value for the hardware that is the PlayStation 4 for our next announcement."

The Final Fantasy VII Remake, a new version of the 1997 RPG, will be released episodically. The first episode is currently without a release date and, as Kitase's comments allude to, is likely still fairly far out.
