Activision, in a co-sponsorship agreement with Fusion.com, Adio, and X Concepts announced the Big Score Competition today, a promotional contest featuring Activision's upcoming sequel, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2.

Consumers will compete for the highest score in a demo version of the game to earn prizes totaling $20,000, including a $10,000 grand prize and a trip to this year's ESPN Summer X-Games to meet skating legend Tony Hawk.

The Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 demo will be available in the July issue of the Official Playstation Magazine and in the Summer 2000 Playstation Underground Jampack. Gamers who score over 25,000 points in the demo will receive a password that can be used to enter the contest online at activision.com, or activision.de for German residents. Players may replay the demo as many times as they like, but can only enter one high score per day.

On August 3, 2000 eight high score finalists from the United States/Canada and four high score finalists - one from Australia, France, Germany and the United Kingdom - will be announced on Activision's website. Each of the 12 finalists will receive a trip for two to the summer X-Games in San Francisco. The ultimate winner will then be able to compete against a top professional athlete to win the Big Score Competition grand prize.

Other prizes available through this unique promotion, which runs from May 15, 2000 through July 28, 2000, include skate related merchandise, gift certificates, shoes, and T-shirts. Contestants in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom also have a chance to win weekly Adio, Fusion.com, and Tech Deck prize packages. Entrants from Germany and France are eligible for similar monthly prizes.

Developed by Neversoft Entertainment, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 will be available for the Playstation in late summer 2000.
