Development has finished, and the golden master copies of 187 Ride or Die have shipped to the factory, Ubisoft announced. The car-combat game will be available in stores for the Xbox and PlayStation 2 on August 23. 187 is rated M for Mature and will cost $49.99.

187 Ride or Die's story follows a young banger named Buck, who is working his way up the food chain in the Dupri criminal empire. Larenz Tate (Menace II Society) stars as Buck and is joined by Noel Gugliemi (The Fast and the Furious, GTA: San Andreas) and hip-hop artist Guerrilla Black.

The game requires players to simultaneously race the car and control a gun-toting hood-riding shotgun (literally). The controls can be split between two players in co-op mode, with one taking the wheel and one taking the weapon, or they can go head-to-head in several multiplayer modes.
