13 Free Games Are Available For Amazon Prime Subscribers Right Now

Amazon Prime Gaming lineup includes Alien Isolation, Star Wars: Squadrons, and plenty more.

October's Prime Gaming lineup outshines the offerings for PS Plus and Xbox Live Gold subscribers. If you're an Amazon Prime subscriber, you'll definitely want to secure the new slate of freebies. 13 free PC games are up for grabs all throughout October, including Star Wars: Squadrons, Alien: Isolation, and Ghostrunner. In addition to the free games, you can also claim in-game loot for popular titles such as Destiny 2 and Genshin Impact.

While Star Wars: Squadrons isn't the best dogfighting game in series history, it is definitely worth playing for fans. Squadrons has layered flight mechanics, interesting maps, and fun head-to-head multiplayer. It earned a 7/10 in our Star Wars: Squadrons review.

Alien: Isolation is a divisive entry in the series, but it has an enthralling and tense atmosphere as well as some genuinely frightening moments. If you're a fan of the Alien movies, Isolation is well worth checking out for yourself--especially at the low cost of free.

Meanwhile, Ghostrunner is a fast-paced action-platformer that released last year. Played from a first-person perspective in a Cyberpunk-infused world, Ghostrunner relies heavily on parkour movements. Clocking in at less than 10 hours, Ghostrunner is an exciting and stylish game that you can finish over the course of a weekend.

Those three games are joined by Song of Horror: Complete Edition, Red Wings: Aces of the Sky, Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures, and Secret Files 3. There are also a handful of bonus freebies that are available to claim, including a bunch more Wallace & Gromit games.

If you don't already have an Amazon Prime account, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial to claim these games. Even if your subscription lapses, you'll still be able to play the freebies in your library.

@kcantrel: You may have to go through Twitch prime to finish getting the games, but it is pretty easy. Also if you have prime be sure to take advantage of many other services they give away for free.

They give tons of free books away, but usually something like the first book of a series. Still though many of these books are the biggest and best out right now. Free comics, many of the most popular ones and story arcs, but usually the first one to get you hooked. Then you have Prime videos, IMDB television (really good), prime music (good but limited), cool cheap stuff like $1 auto electric wifi switches, and $25 fire 4k sticks, etc. And lots of other things as well.

The subscription is well worth it beyond just free shipping.

@jenovaschilld: I have to agree as Amazon has an nice subscription model and it is better to get the year sub as monthly cost more than yearly. I used to avoid the games when offered on Twitch alone until Amazon got an hold of it as I can acquire the games with my Amazon account.

@jenovaschilld: Thanks. I try and take advantage of the other features. I have been watching some of their videos. Orphan Black is REALLY good! Although I could do without all the theatrical "background" music they play all the time.

@jenovaschilld: Prime Music isn't too bad tbh. I mean I've built up an okay-ish library over the years actually.

Is it the greatest? Meh... not really but, otoh, I don't see the need to get a separate monthly subscription for music when I just don't listen to music away from my computer often enough to justify a monthly cost. So, yeah, Prime Music works just fine for me.

That's pretty much the case for a lot of the Prime stuff that you get, I've noticed: "Is it the greatest out there? Not really but, if you're already paying for Prime for other things-- might as well use that little extra thing they give you."

@dlist4ever: Agree totally, would I pay for prime music... NO, but since it is free, it does fine. Then again I stopped paying for music 23 yrs ago.

@dlist4ever: No, it is not the greatest but it works for me. Everything is going subscription these days and if one sits down add up the cost it could get expensive but some are worth it if going annually.

@kcantrel: Go to amazon, download the amazon gaming app for your pc (assuming you have a pc) install the app, open the app, find the free game and install them...

You could've easily found that out for yourself in less time it took you to write that out...

@LowTechGeek: No, Gen 2 was just a CGI "remaster"/update to the original Gen 1 cartoon and rereleased as G2.
