A festival of crazy situations and puzzles.

User Rating: 4 | Art of Murder: Cards of Destiny PC
While Art of Murder 3: Cards of Destiny starts off promisingly with its stylish and highly detailed visuals it doesn't take long until you discover how broken is as an adventure game. In fact you can suspect that something is very wrong with this game from the very first introductory cut-scene.

WIthout spoiling anything- it's only the cut-scene before even the game starts, inside a large trash disposal bin lies a woman with her hands and feet tied and her mouth closed with duct tape. The gαrbage truck has arrived and the bin is attached to the truck. Moments before she is going to be cut into pieces inside the mechanism of the garbage truck, the refuse collector sees a blood stained card slipping out out of the bin. He immediately signals to his co-worker to stop the crane. Thank god! What would a normal person think if he saw a blood stained card slipping out of the bin, and why did he stop the crane? To open the bin and investigate perhaps? No, all he wanted was to put the blood stained card back to the bin! And of course the woman died moments later. And this was supposed to be the work of a genius serial killer. So the killer had planned that part too, that the scavenger would be mentally retarded?

Roughly I would say half of the game is full of unbelievable and paranoid situations, stupid and frustrating riddles and characters thinking like five year old children, the game's heroine included. The rest of the game can pass as a standard point and click adventure. But the anger and frustration that you will experience by playing the broken parts make the entire game not worth playing in my opinion. You will have to deal with frustrating puzzles not because they are masterfully designed, but simply because they are stupid.
This game is a waste of time, it took me a week to realize it and admit it, so you can use my experience and avoid all this.
