As an oldschool player, I found the controls a bit hard to get used to. It seemed like they added so many functions. When you get past that though, the game is really fun and a credit to the series. It's a bit easier to figure out your specific combat style and make sure your core caters to that style. The parts and weapons are nicely balanced and provide for a wide range of fighting styles. My only real complaint is the length of the game. Normal mode, will pose no challenge to expert players. Hard mode will provide for more hours of gameplay, but that's only because it's DAMNED HARD! This is especially true if you're going for all S ranks.
Overall, if you've got a few buddies that play and a large enough tv for split-screen, you'll have a great time for a long time. I give the single player experience a low B, but multiplayer is ACES!
