I bought this game after I read so many good reviews on the ultimate robotic game. I couldn't find the first one, so I just got this. It was the biggest waste of 15 bucks in my entire life....The cover box does indeed make it look awesome, descriptions as well, but it's not. So I began to play, and beat the first five guys in the arena battles. Seemed fun. Then I kept getting destroyed after I got up to the 6th guy. So I figured it was time to do some other missions other than the first two. Sadly, I didn't know after the first two, if you didn't have the best armor available, which is completely unaffordable at the begging of the game, you'd end up either dying, or spending most of your award money on repairs and ammunition. So really, they made it so you can't even buy new armor or weapons, or anything, since the repair costs usually takes off most, or all, or even takes away the mission award money. Most of the battles will seem like the same fight as the last one. The one good thing about this game is color customization...woohoo...
Overview:
Graphics: Pretty decent, great for its time, but nothing spectacular.
Gameplay: You HAVE to know how to do all sorts of maneuvers if you're going to last more than a minute. Also, as I said before, a lot of the fights seem like the same thing over and over again. Multiplayer is kind of fun, but at that point you might as well just get a regular shooter
Sound: "Is that the same music as the last 15 fights?", I often asked myself when playing. Other than that the game does have good sound quality.
Storyline: What storyline...?
I must say, this is the worst PS2 purchase I have ever made. If you're thinking of getting this, I suggest you rent it first, then play through for a while and see if it wears off of you after the first few missions and arena fights.
