This game is fun for a little while but will quickly go 1 of 4 directions depending on who you are. 1. It will get way too hard too fast and the limitations will tick you off. 2. Understanding exactly what must be done, it becomes extremely easy for you. 3. You think this game is just plain boring, because you suck at it. 4. you are easily pleased and love any game with explosions. Woo. For me, it was fun for about 6 hours and then got hard, then easy, then boring. Though controls are odd, but you'll figure them out. ( look up is R2!) It's easy for a whle, but punishing if you choose the wrong equipment for the job, and you can only find out what is required once you've tried the mission(the mission briefs don't help much) which is irritating. Strangely, some parts are meant to be hard and are easy, and other are vice versa. That will really get on your nerves. My 2 personal peeves about this game are an illusion of freedom and an arena battle called Matthias. The illusion of freedom is majorly disappointing. you get a menu and much like Gran Turismo 2, you pick what you want to do using your customized machine and you're automatically taken there. A world map would've been way more fun. It lets you think you are picking out missions but you have to do them anyway, so, that choice is worthless. The second peeve being the arena battle Matthias. After you beat the supposed grand champion nine breaker, a mech called Matthias comes out to play. He is decked in the best equipment in the game and his combat CPU could solve an advanced calculus test. Over 3/4 of the battle you can't see him, but you know where he his because you can see your health go down when he stabs you in the back. He is amazingly fast. When you finally win after countless tries, you'll probably whip the controller at the wall and yell at the top of your lungs."Who's your B%$#H now!?!?"
The variety of things you can equip to mechs is good fun, but gets old. The game is fun but passable.Average. 7/10
