This game IS worth it, period.

Alot of people have issues with this game, the single primary reason being that there are "too many bugs." It's an understandable complaint, but perhaps more infrequent than people expect. I used to crash to desktop on my system, but considering I'm running a single Nvidia 8800 Superclocked and nForce 780i SLI mobo (E8400 Intel proc) 4gb OCZ ram, what's important are three things:
A) I updated the game to 1.3
B) My video drivers are 182.06,
and
C) I turned OFF the PHYSX acceleration in the Nvidia menu. And you know what? I haven't crashed a single time since.
This has allowed me to get a glimpse of a game that is absolutely breathtaking in its achievement. It is massive. The game feels very realistic in the gunplay and operation of procedure. (You are tasked with locating gunrunner x, we think he's at location y, go to that location and ask the locals, find clues, etc.) As the story is, the gameplay is very enticing and you really feel like you're part of a country that is slowly coming undone in the midst of war.
Technically, there is little in the way of game physics: Buildings tend to literally fold into the ground when destroyed and I think enemy deaths are pre-scripted. Yet this does not detract from the game greatly as your primary targets are well-animated and textured enemies, pursuing you through thick, lush forest and ducking to find cover as bullets literally whiz past their heads.
This is a military-simulator. It is a fresh experience for the first-person genre, and the inclusion of myriad vehicles and fully developed weapons adds so much to the game.
I highly recommend it, as I've had so much fun and really been drawn into it.
