A good filler game
First and foremost if you're picking up this game for a good and immersing story, don't bother. It's one of the most formulaic RPG's I've ever played. It sticks steadfastly to tried and tested plot devices that come as absolutely no surprise. The characters aren't well developed or even likeable.
As for the music and voice acting, wailing 80's guitars all around. Aside from the two main characters the voice acting isn't terrible, but it isn't stellar either.
All that said I liked the combat and levelling system which says a lot because I do not like tactical RPG's. This made it easy to understand and adapt.
The best thing about this game is the price. I spent less than $8.00 and it filled the time between big releases. If you're looking for a cheap and non-commital filler game, Arc the Lad is a good choice.
