Black offers absolutely jaw-dropping visuals, a kickass combat system, and an amazing musical score with lasting value.

Ninja Gaiden: Black is a rare breed of action game; it combines just about everything a hack n' slash could possibly have. The controls are tight and responsive, the camera system, though frustrating at times, it quite managable, the eye candy is sweeter than chocolate, the adventure is deep and rewarding, and hundreds of intimidating and challenging bouts throughout. Black is a ruthless action game with enemies that show no mercy and require a player with a similar mindset to defeat. Over half-dozen completely different usable melee weapons, and a Japanese audio track with matching lip synch makes the story much more enjoyable experience.
I can't really what hasn't been said about Black. Ninja Gaiden veterans like myself will have little trouble dealing with the Ninja Dog and Normal modes, but for newbies, a great amount of practice and learning is required to skillfully defeat each batch of foes since many of them tend to behave far differently than the ones before.
