Even for a game geared towards kids, this is an abysmal failure on all fronts: education, playability and fun. STAY AWAY

A lazy effort in the creation of this game in turn deserves a lazy review. Suffice to say that this game is horrible! The graphics are incredibly blocky and dated and aside from the textures being used the background is all just a blurry backdrop. The gameplay is terrible. The controls are so sluggish and getting around anything requires that you be very careful not to run into anything lest you get stuck and have to spend and infuriating amount of time turning around to bypass it. This game tries to be a mix of adventure and action. There are segment where you must find items a la Resident Evil to progress the story and then there are sections where you must race to a certain point against the clock as an animal though even here there are issues with obstacle navigation. The fighting system is like a turn based RPG only instead of elemental magics and strategical options you can only select attack and heal, making each battle a tedious press the button and wait experience. As a game based on scholastic books it should have been educational but instead of letting the player choose which form best suits the situation, the game instead holds your hand the whole way and tells you what to do. So ultimately this game is an interactive children's book that plays horribly and disallows exploration and learning from experience. Steer clear of this stinker and for parents exploring this game as a possibility for their kids as an educational tool there are better options.
