A fun, different game which is full of new ideas - can however get slightly tedious after a while.

User Rating: 7 | Animal Crossing: Wild World DS
Animal Crossing: Wild World was the first DS game I ever bought. This was mainly due to the good reviews it had been getting and the fact that it just generally looked different.

Starting the game was unfortunately dissapointing, I didn't really know what to do when and what the game was all about, it seemed pretty pointless at the time. Gradually though I grew used to it and discovered that it wasn't quite a game and was more of another life.

You play as your own character who has just moved in to a new town and have to fill out some tasks set by the shop owner - Tom Nook. This is like the game tutorial and is strangely quite enjoyable. Anyway, once you have finished your jobs you are let out in the town free to do whatever you please.

You can earn money in a number of different ways; you can sell fish, bugs, fossils and furniture, carry out work set by neighbours and much more. With money you can work to pay off your mortgage, buy furniture to put in your home, buy clothes, buy paintings to put into a museum and donate to a distant, suffering town.

What I enjoy most about Animal Crossing though, is the fact that you have the freedom to choose whatever you want to do; you can make your dream home, collect all the clothing, make the perfect garden, look after your town, fill up the museum, build up a relationship with your animal neighbours, send letters to them and donate money to charity.

Over the course of the game you are also invited to events going on in the town including competitions with your animal neighbours. You can visit other peoples towns via wi-fi or you can play with people in the room with you, whichever you choose they are both thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile for learning new things and meeting new people and residents.

The only thing I would say is that after a while the game does get slightly tedious, boring and repetitive so you decide not to go on it for a week or two. When you do next go on it weeds have grown and plants have died which can be annoying as it takes a fair while to get it back up to the standard you want.

Despite this, I would absolutely recommend this game purely because it is interesting, fun and utterly different.
