Best rythm game ever created. If only people actually played it online.

User Rating: 10 | Amplitude PS2
Amplitude is both a simple and complex game in one. I first played it in a demo disc, and I thought the game was extremely odd and it wasn't much good. After playing the demo for about 2 hours, then eating dinner, and then playing it for about another hour, I went to rent it. The day after I sent the game back, I went to the store and bought it. No game Iv'e ever rented has had that much of an impact on me even to this very day.

The game has licenced music by many different artists. It's kind of 50/50 for quality of songs but thats not why the game is amazing. Why it's so good is the actual gameplay. There are different tracks that you move from to complete to make the music play. If you don't play it properly, you don't get any music. On each track there are three nodes that you need to hit. (left/middle/right) The L1/R1/R2 buttons are what you press for each location. You move down the track and the node move toward you, you have to hit them at the precise time to make the music play. You can get up to an 8x multiplier if you don't skrew up.

Another part of this game is the character customization. There are many things to unlock as you beat songs. Most people online have very stupid looking characters. I was actually one of the few that had a good one. People complimented me on how good my guy looked.

Asside from the main game, there is also a multi player mode, an online mode, remix mode and also a horse type hame in which you make up your own track and the other player has to do the same thing or the opponent gets a letter. First to spell Amplitude wins.

The online mode has all of the same games but the only problem is, no one ever plays online. Also it accepts dial-up connections so it gets very laggy. The most amout of people I ever saw on the game was about 100. The online mode also has a rankings system. The better you are the lower your number. (my rank was number 40-45)

One final thing in the game is the levels you play in. If you've never used drugs, you can just play this game and find out what it's like. ( just imagine people playing this game when they are actually high..verrry trippy!)

Amplitude sells for around $10 now and it would honestly be the best $10 you will ever spend. So go out there and get it.
