The future of the Arrow-verse is going to drastically change after the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event, with Arrow coming to an end. However, as The CW's universe of superhero TV shows looks to the future, there are a couple of familiar faces that may be getting a spin-off.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Superman & Lois Lane is in the works from the network. The series, which would star Supergirl, guest stars Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch in the titular roles. The series is being written and executive produced by Todd Helbing, who previously served as showrunner on The Flash.

Now Playing: Elseworlds: Every DC Easter Egg In The Arrowverse Crossover

A brief description of the series, per EW, reads, "the potential show would follow the super-duo as they deal with all of the stress, pressures, and complexities that come with being working parents in today's society." Of course, these aren't just any working parents. One of them is a superhero, the other is one of the world's most renowned journalists.

Should it go to series, Superman & Lois Lane will be the first time the Man of Steel has had his own show since Smallville ended in 2011. Interestingly enough, Tom Welling (Clark Kent) and Erica Durance (Lois Lane) will reprise their roles from that series in the upcoming Crisis crossover, alongside Hoechlin and Tulloch playing their versions of the characters.

It's worth noting Superman & Lois Lane wouldn't be the first time DC's most prominent couple shared a TV series. Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman previously aired for four seasons between 1993 and 1997. In that take, Dean Cain played the superhero, with Teri Hatcher taking on the role of reporter Lois Lane.

Elsewhere in the Arrow-verse, another spin-off is in the works. With Arrow coming to an end, a female-centric follow-up centered on Mia Smoke (Katherine McNamara), Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy Rodgers), and Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy) is being developed.
