Respawn has released the character trailer for Loba, the next playable legend coming to Apex Legends in Season 5: Fortune's Favor--which starts tomorrow, May 12. The new trailer, which is embedded below, reveals Loba's passive, tactical, and ultimate abilities. [Update: Apex's Season 5 update is live, complete with patch notes and a new battle pass. Loba is also now available for purchase for the usual price of 12,000 Legend Tokens or 750 Apex Coins.]

Loba's passive ability, Eye For Quality, allows the infamous thief to see epic and legendary loot through walls, giving her an advantage at quickly securing the best armor and weapon attachments for her and her squadmates.

Now Playing: Apex Legends - Meet Loba Character Trailer

Her tactical ability, Burglar's Best Friend, sees Loba throwing her bracelet. When it lands, Loba teleports to the location, picks up her bracelet, and returns to the fight. Not an ideal tactical ability for jumping straight into combat, but perfect for getting to out-of-reach loot or sneaking up behind enemy squads. You can see Loba use Burglar's Best Friend to escape an enemy squad and then get the drop on Revenant in the Season 5 gameplay trailer.

Finally, Loba's ultimate ability is Black Market Boutique. After placing her staff, Loba will scan the nearby area. All loot in the vicinity--regardless of rarity--will appear listed on the staff when Loba or her squadmates interact with it (similar to looting a death box). This essentially consolidates all of the nearby loot to one location, allowing squads to quickly loot an area from a hidden position. Plus, you won't leave any obvious signs you were even there (like open doors and footprints), making it harder for a Bloodhound to track you. That said, all loot being affected by Black Market Boutique will quiver in midair, which will alert nearby squads that a Loba is close and trying to steal all the loot. Each person can only take two items from the Black Market Boutique as well.

Alongside Loba, Season 5: Fortune's Favor adds a brand-new battle pass and game mode to Apex Legends. The new mode, Quests, is story-driven and primary PvE--though it does tie into the PvP side of Apex Legends.
