Great Classic!

I remember owning this game back in the day. In the late 80's when I was a kid, I subscribed to SNK's weekly news letter (which was pretty small). In the news letter was a column posting the high scores for their games. If you could beat the high score and send in a picture they would give you a free game (at least that is the way I remember it). I remember seeing that the posted high score for Alpha Mission was fairly low and decided I would beat it for a free game. Little did I know I would end up playing the game for several hours straight and flip the game twice, (the game did not end) ultimately crushing the current high score. I called my dad at his work and asked him to bring home the camera so I could take a picture and he said he would, but he never did :( It has been a long time since I played this game, so that memory is all I have to go by. This is how I remember the game. You pilot a spaceship through 6 - 8 levels with bosses at the end of each level. The action scrolls from top to bottom. Along the way you can get power ups that make you go faster and shoot better. The last head boss is the most frantic. Once you beat him, you start over at level 1. The play continues until you die. On a side note, I did recently purchase a factory sealed copy on E-bay and I do plan on playing it again in the near future (although, I won't be opening my factory sealed copy).
