I gave it a 7. If you're a fan of AVP and you have a good computer, I recommend the game.

User Rating: 7 | Aliens vs. Predator PC
PRO's:

It's AVP! And it looks better than ever. The graphics were not top notch like Crysis or CoD games but they were good. The aliens were very detailed and cool looking as were the other characters. The atmosphere was nice. Good shadows and lighting set the mood well.

I love the sounds of AVP such as the guns - the cool pulse rifle sound, predator shoulder cannon - and other sounds like the aliens screaming, the sound of the predator switching optical views, etc. Love it.

I like the way the three campaigns (marine, alien, predator) kind of blended together. I recommend playing them in that order. It was cool to revisit areas as all three species and see some events unfold (or arrive shortly thereafter) from different species eyes.

I didn't really see a problem with controls.

CON's:

Firstly, I don't know if it was because of Steam or if my computer was acting up or what, but in the outside areas, my computer was in slide show mode. Very bad frame rate. Turning down the graphics helped but my rig is pretty decent. I do have a 24 inch monitor and ran it on top resolution so obviously that takes a hit on FPS.

The voice acting was not the greatest (except for some actors like Wayland who was awesome).

The game was a bit too short. However, the alien campaign did seem about right - it was short but any longer and I would have tired of just melee. The marine and predator campaigns should have been longer.

CONCLUSION:

I usually buy games based on GameSpot reviews. But in this case, because I am an AVP fan, I bought the game and I was not disappointed (mostly because my expectations were low going in).

I recommend the game if you like AVP.
