Great mix of intense gameplay that does the movie proud.

It's always been a hit and miss world when it comes to games adapted from movies. Luckily this game did a good job of living up to Aliens.

Aliens brought a lot of the movie atmosphere to the game. The sound and music was well done, and very fitting for each level.

The game-play in each level also changes as you progress. You start by piloting down the drop ship by navigation through rings. You then move to the best level where you have 4 soldiers lost in the complex and you have to get each one back to your transport. You can switch from soldier to soldier on the fly, and will have to, as there will be warnings when one of them is under attack by aliens. Aliens will come from all sides of you, including from out of the walls.

You then move on to fighting off aliens with a flame thrower, while a fellow soldier attempts to cut through a door so your party can escape.

This is followed by navigating your soldiers through a maze of air ducks, rescuing Newt, and then fend off the queen by using the loader's arms.

An innovative part the developers brought forward was that almost every level has a different style of game-play, which I had never experienced at the time this game came out.

For many some the levels you have to try and keep as many of your squad as safe as possible. Aliens will grab them one at a time until they they're all taken. You can progress as long as one survives, but of course saving more makes later levels easier.

This game had variety, challenge, and most of all fun!
