NOTE: THIS IS A REVIEW FOR BUGHINT. BUGHUNT SAVES THIS GAME FROM BEING UTTER @%!$

User Rating: 7 | Aliens: Colonial Marines X360
Ok, so this review is basically a review for the new Bug Hunt DLC that just came out today. Let me tell you, it really saves this game from being the biggest disappointment I have ever played in my entire life. If this was what Gearbox sold at first instead of that sorry excuse for an ALIENS game, people would have been much happier!

The DLC is really fun, tons, and I mean TONS of aliens will be coming for you, especially in the later rounds if you don't use the "Threat Suppressors" that lower the amount of aliens coming after you. You don't wanna hunker down, because if the threat level of the aliens gets too high, the wave will become endless, making it virtually impossible to complete the rest of the game alone, so you gota go find those suppressors. A good game mechanic to stop camping through all 30 waves in my opinion. The motion tracker is actually useful now, because sometimes things can get so hectic that an alien or two will be able to sneak past you and climb onto the ceiling or get behind a big crate, which can be a **** playing on the "Ultimate Badass" setting while you and your buddy (if your playing with one, this can be played solo, but be warned, its really hard!) are on low health because that sneaky bastard can one - hit you both, so its a good idea to whip out that motion tracker every once in a while to keep track of any stray Xenos.

All of the special aliens, such as the lurkers and spitters, are in this mode.(haven't seen the bull alien though, but then again, I haven't gotten that far without being torn to shreds!) The alien AI seems to be amped up a notch for this mode too, which is good because they use to be dumber than dog crap. The drones jump around alot more, and only sprint mindlessly towards you when they are in a good range, opposed to making a b-line towards you while they are 50 yards away.

The only bad things I found about this game were that they have you fighting those damn Weyland Yutani mercs again, which totally sucks the fun out and makes it more of a chore than a game. Luckily these guys aren't around as much as the Xenos are. Another thing that sucks is NO SPLITSCREEN! What the hell? This is the perfect game mode to play some couch coop with a friend, and I can't? Hopefully Gearbox will implement this in the future, but that takes away at least one rating point for making a coop game mode and not allowing splitscreen. Other than that though, the DLC is really good. If you like the ALIENS franchise and survival game modes, then see if ALIENS: Colonial Marines is in the bargain bin at your local store and buy it and this DLC, get some friends together online (even though they probably would rather come over to your house and play it, goddamn Gearbox) or even just play it alone and you will have a blast playing this!
