Alien Storm is not about story (nearly non existent), it's about beating up some aliens, in this case, and pass level through level doing the same... beating up some aliens. The game introduces three characters, a woman, a man and a robot, who belong to a group called "Alien Busters". You take the role of one of the Earth heroes, each one with different special moves, but game play it's the same whether you choose one or the other. Like every other beat-em up game, your only objective is to button mash your way until you kill the final boss and win the game. Fortunately, to avoid grinding, the game includes two mini-games, one resembling to a FPS, and the other as a run and gun game. The mini-games add variety but not for long. The game spans eight levels of "missions" so don't expect to have a long rewarding experience. If you are a beat-em up fan, you will try to beat the game with all three characters in its three difficulty levels, easy, normal, and hard and check your rank and the end of the final credits. This game is a great choice for Genesis beat-em up, sci-fi fans, but again, don't expect to be different from the Golden Axe or Streets of Rage series.
