This short game is as easy to enjoy as it is to complete. Recommended for your younger siblings.
That said, because of the easiness of the game, it's over far too quickly - an average playthrough, even after doubling back to make sure you've gotten all the collectibles, will probably take you seven or eight hours at most. In addition, combat really is quite a bore, especially if you're doubling back to make sure you've gotten everything - it just seems like an artificial, time-consuming roadblock getting in the way of your enjoyment of the game, especially once you figure out exactly what you're supposed to do and where you want to go.
Nonetheless, the character powers are implemented quite well - there are clear indications of when you need to use a power, such as the Mad Hatter's world flipping skill or the Cheshire cat's ability to make things phase in and out of reality - they all feel satisfying and magical, and really make the experience quite immersive and enjoyable. Unfortunately, you're never really challenged to put all the powers together until the later parts of the game, and the game is only even marginally taxing for a brief moment before its over. Also, the ending leaves something to be desired; after your long journey, it can feel a little predictable and anti-climatic at the same time.
Overall, the game serves as a good entry point for less experienced gamers - it's easy to get into and easy to complete. However, gamers looking for a serious challenge might want to look elsewhere to get their kicks.
