Overall a fun game, something you should check out if you're looking for some tycoon fun.
Airline Tycoon Evolution is about trying to run a prosperous airline. There are 2 main modes, free play and campaign. In the Free Play mode you just go with the flow, doing whatever your heart desires, meanwhile, in the campaign mode you will be doing things like trying to earn a given amount of money, or fly a given number of passengers before your opponents. The controls for this game are point-and-click esque, you can use hot keys but it takes a while to get used to what button takes you where. One of the best things in the game, is the ability to build your own planes using a small, but still varied, selection of parts. Planes can even cost over one million dollars! The worst aspect of the game in my opinion, is the useless buildings, there are two or three places where you can get plane requests from, they could have just packed it into one easy room.
The graphics are pretty average, they're good for the PC, but there isn't many effects that are used, maybe 3 or 4 small ones but not enough to please the eye. This game doesn't really have anything wrong with the graphics though, you can see everything clearly, it's just not as colourful as I had hoped in some spots.
The sound is good, you can hear things from people chatting in the background, to footsteps walking across tiled floor. The only problem is, that most of the voices are monotone and very boring.
This game has decent replay value, as you will fail some of the challenges often making you play more and more to complete everything. Even though you can't rent this game, it's still a good game to check out.
If you're one of the people looking for a good Tycoon/Business Strategy, with a long life, passable graphics, good sound and lots of fun to be had, Airline Tycoon Evolution is a game worth getting.
