Lesser version of Dead Space

User Rating: 6 | Afterfall: InSanity PC
Afterfall insanity, AI should be judge as an indie game. It feels a lot like Dead Space but a bit lesser. And it's not in space.

Pros:
-Good graphics
-The running for character are finely done as the camera shakes, imo it's the best running animation I seen in a TPS
-Different environment to traverse like shelter, caves, town
-Puzzles are integrated into the game. They're not too hard and imo feels fresh for a tps.
-No bugs whatsoever
-The flow of story is well done, you started from an underground shelter and make yourself to the surface. The narrative given by the hero is convincing and he constantly comments on things.

+-:
-The voice acting can be really convincing at times, and sometimes feels cheesy or forced.
-Story is decent at best, there's some interesting twists but then there's plot holes concerning characters fall out of the story completely. The major twist that drives the story can be off putting if you notice it a mile away as the game constantly taunts you with it.
-Combat in terms of shooting is bearable, but the constant waves of enemies breaks the immersion you'll get from the graphics and environment. Sufficient variety like pistol, revolver, rifle, shotgun- sufficient.
-Cut scenes can either be okay or quite at times, looks poorly done where the character's animation are off
-Gameplay has a little bit a variety. Apart from the puzzles, there's one time where you control a remote car - one time. There's 1 or 2 running sequences in the middle of the game but that's it. The running is automated, character runs while you just control the aim and shoot things.

Cons:
-Poor melee combat. Really bad, there's a variety of melee weapons but for all weapons, there's only the same 2 attack animation and 2 finishing moves.
-Should have utilize more running action
-With poor combat, the game shamelessly throws waves after waves of enemy at you.
-Pricing of 34$. Not really worth such.

While the game looks great and can get immersive sometimes, the combat is a major annoyance - the combat is something you want to get over with than enjoy. It's a shame, if the game just drop off the combat and not try to be like Dead Space, it would be a great game.
