simple gameplay, small icons for your troops, and some weird backround music. And I'm lovin it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

User Rating: 8.4 | Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising GBA
If you have heard of Advanced wars, well this is the second one. Of course, alot of people have said that they are exactly the same. Their not. Advance Wars II has had a tweak on the graphics just a little bit to make it less glitchy looking, along with a new backround for every character. Along with that, the plot has been changed. Many players have had their hopes up for a game like Age Of Empires for their GBA. This is definately that game.

Gameplay- Interesting. It's cool how they have these small icons for your characters. Only someone without taste in art and fine drawn doodles would say, "wut the heck are those little things?" Of course, it's very simple and you dont aim your tanks and get to drive tanks and dodge bullets. However, that doesn't make war games great. It's the inventive gameplay and new ideas of how to cause damage to the enemy that makes a game great. Plus, this isn't an action shooter, meaning it doesn't need to be judged on it's realism. It's a strategy game, so thats why it gets a 9.

Graphics- Interesting. Every army will look and seem differant depending on its nation. Plus, this game isnt violant. when an enemy dies, they either shoot away out of the screen, or just explode into nothing. It is also fun to unlock and gain Vehicles and characters, along with changing the color of the hair and apperal of the characters as well.

Sound- Catchy. Every character will have an absolutely differant kind of catchy backround music during their turn while playing. Some backround music will be droopy and slow, making you feel tired and bored during your turn, that way you feel like your character if their a bored and droopy person. Some characters have music that seems like they are preparing for a full frontal assault. Other's will have nice calm music thats both calm, and action packed. Of course, it is just simple music, so don't get too carried away hoping for some serious Rock&Roll.

Value- With the difficulty to unlock a new character, along with maps you can buy in the map store for multiplayer, you will find it absolutely worth playing Campaign mode. Not only is it fun to fight the bad guys in Single player, but you will also have fun with mapmaker, which allows you to make and design levels for you and your freinds to play multiplayer in. If this isn't enouph for you, then your far too picky and probably will never settle for a single strategy game worth playing.

Tilt- A nice happy world, full of angry countries with no citizens, just soldiers, and cars replaced with tanks, along with offices replaced with bunkers. And atop of that, your nice comfy townspeople with dreams of becoming the best warriors ever and taking out every other nation in exhistance, is attacked by a warlord with an army of mutant creatures in suits of weird liquid to keep them alive helping him, hoping to destroy your entire army................... Gee, aint this just the sweetest gme ever!

Overall, this is a game worth buying.
