You take on the roll of a god(actualy two rolls,a cupid type being and a powerful warrior). You must rid these many different lands of cursed soil, breeding demons and monsters...not to much of a mythological connection...but its felt.As you rid these lands of monsters and what not, your paving the way for your servant and worshipers to build there towns and bridges..a simple concept but its quite satisfying even in this day of high gen technology.as you rid these monsters you stumble onto these monsters "domains" or "lairs".you must travel into these lairs to confront the boss, in doing this you venture into the role of the warrior, sword in hand and magic ready.typical 2-D side scroller hack-n-slash combo...golden axe style, very rewarding though..but that could just be nostalgia, slight level gaining, dont excpect anything to deep, but it has the elements.ActRaiser has some very well crafted bosses and difficult boss fights,i wont ruin the ending if anyone hasnt beat it.if not..its weel worth the download, and your time, still some 12 or 13 years after its creation it still delievers rich gameplay,a solid plot, and the graphics were top notch for the time..and are still impressive today.
