I was never much of a fan of sewer exploration

Ahhh, the wonderful of sewer exploration. Probably one of the most misunderstood genres in the world of gaming. How could someone not enjoy countless hours of navigating through repetitive environments, fighting the same bad guys over and over, and flipping switches? It baffles me. "In one of the more exciting parts of the game, we find our heroes rolling down some stairs."

This game though, is one of the earlier sewer explorers, before it was an established genre, and unfortunately before developers really knew how to make a good sewer explorer. You take control of three monsters, Cane, Rabator, and Handi, and must guide them through twenty-five levels of sewer madness. "This game includes the infamous rat poop scene, almost forcing Nintendo to cancel it"

Your attacks include throwing fish skeletons, and roaring real loud as to scare any nearby enemies. You can also press the "team" button, which makes your characters use teamwork to do some sort of trick, like stacking on top of each other to reach a high place. "The first boss, a rabies infested dog, is where most people get stuck. The trick to beating this beast is to simply jump on his snout ten times."

Now after reading that though, you're probably sitting there wondering how THAT couldn't be game of the year quality. Sadly, this game offers nothing in the terms of fun'ness. The bosses are all lame, like a dog, a duck, a marker cap, and a splintered piece of wood. Your characters can't attack in any interesting manner, just throwing fish skeletons. Handi can't even throw his eyes at enemies like he does in the cartoon show.

"The duck from Hell makes his debut in this very game"

So overall, a pretty mediocre game, but historically important as it paved the way for future sewer exploration games. Hopefully the sequel, which is slanted for PS2 and Wii, will greatly improve upon this game and shine like it should have.
