Never been to sure about Town Building games? AKFK introduces the casual gamer to this genre nicely.

I've never was a big fan of those "Architectural RPGs", but I find that the simplicity of A Kingdom For Keflings keeps things simple and is a nice introduction to this genre of gaming.

In Single Player mode, the main goal is to progress towards building a Castle for your Kingdom. You get several power-ups along the way which can be obtained either by harvesting the limited resources in the middle of the environment, building specific structures or earning them as rewards from your Mayor/Lord/King. These power-ups basically consist of you being able to do your job faster but there are some that are just plain fun and help liven up the experience as you play such as being able to paint buildings.

The AKFK Xbox Live experience is somewhat different, as you cannot save progress in your Kingdom. It's mainly about helping fellow gamers build up to the Castle with you. One special feature is that you are able to create a Player Banner, which is a tower with your face on it. To those wondering, these can be made at the Town Workshop.

As far as gameplay goes, some may find it quite repetitive, but I think most Civilization-type games are exactly that. It's all about broadening your Town and building up to something big. A Kingdom For Keflings is a pretty popular game at the moment so no doubt the Trial Game will prop up on Live to trigger your curiosity!

Those looking to up their Gamerscore will find that this game isn't too hard for Achievements, but the two involved with Xbox Live will be more of a struggle to get. You'll also be pleased to know that this game doesn't cost 1,200 Microsoft Points, but only 800, which I'd say is a fair price for this game. Give it a try!
